Based on recent tests carried out on the KS1000 SF secret fix roof panel, it was found that due to the sealant size and the way the panel is fixed in the crown, insufficient compression of the butyl weather seal occurred.
As a result, the following changes have been agreed and are being implemented:
- For the above named product, all future specifications issued by Kingspan's Technical Design Bureau, will incorporate these revised changes. Also, all new literature published in the future will be amended accordingly.
- Panel End Lap has been changed, as per End Lap detail TB7 /1.
- Panel Side Lap will remain the same, as per Side Lap detail TB7 /1.
- The current main fixing positions will remain the same, as per attached Main Panel Fixing Position detail TB7 /2.
- Secondary saddle washer fixings will remain the same, as per attached Secondary Saddle washer Fixing detail TB7 /2.
- Tail stitching locations have been changed for the KS1000 SF roof panel. The panel is to be tail stitched at either side of the crown 50mm upslope from the end lap. Tail stitching screw to be low profile headed type with 14mm diameter bonded washer, as per Tail Stitching Screw Position detail TB7 /2.
