With the KS500/1000 ZIP insulated standing seam roof panel, there are various compulsory ancillary items, with various references depending upon panel module and external face material.
The purpose of this Technical Bulletin is to ensure that the reader has a good understanding of the various ancillary items required for the KS500/1000 ZIP insulated standing seam roof panel which are supplied by Kingspan Limited.
The following pages give a brief description and application of all standard ancillary items used with the KS500/1000 ZIP insulated standing seam roof panel.

Stainless Steel Halter
Product Code:-
KZ1-90-500, used with the 500mm module panel. Also used with the 1000mm wide panel at the eaves, ridge and hip locations
KZ1-90-1000, used with the 1000mm wide panel at the intermediate purlin positions, not used at eaves, ridge and hip locations.
The figure in the centre of the reference code denotes the panel thickness that the halter is being used to fix, e.g. KZ1-90-1000 denotes a panel thickness of 90mm. We can also supply the halter to suit the 45mm and the 110mm thick panels.
The halters are the primary fixing method for the KS500/1000 ZIP insulated standing seam roof panel.
They are located along the standing seam of the panel at every purlin position, and they are through fixed into the purlins with a minimum of 2 fasteners for the KZ1-90-500 halter and 3 fasteners for the KZ1-90-1000.

PVC Co-laminate Tape

KZ2, supplied in 12m rolls, it is used with both panel modules and all panel thicknesses.
The KZ2, PVC co-laminate end-lap tape is used to form the primary weather seal at panel endlaps along with a non-curing mastic - not required if the panel end-lap is to be welded (welded end-lap is only applicable to the aluminium external weather sheet)

EPDM Ridge Filler

KZ3-500, used with the 500mm wide panel.
KZ3-1000, used with the 1000mm wide panel.
The KZ3-500/1000 is used in conjunction with the Ridge Shroud to form the weather seal between the ridge flashing and the panel.

Ridge Shroud
Product Code:-
KZ4-500A, used with the 500mm wide aluminium panel.
KZ4-1000A, used with the 1000mm wide aluminium panel.
KZ4-500S, used with the 500mm wide steel panel.
KZ4-1000S, used with the 1000mm wide steel panel.
The shrouds are supplied in lengths to suit the panel module; ie either 500mm or 1000mm, They are made from the same material as the external weather sheet of the panel ie, mill finish aluminium, or coated steel.
The purpose of the Ridge Shroud is to fix and hold the Profiled Ridge Filler in place, and to give a support to fix the ridge flashing too.

EPDM Joint Filler

KZ12-90, used with both the 500mm and 1000mm wide panels
The figure in the centre of the reference code denotes the panel thickness the EPDM joint filler is being used in conjunction with, e.g. KZ12-90 denotes a panel thickness of 90mm. We can also supply the EPDM joint filer to suit the 45mm and the 110mm thick panels
The EPDM joint filler is used to close off the gap between the two panels at the eaves location, and to form an air seal for compliance with the Building Regulations.
