Reap The Rewards With Architectural Feature Components From Kingspan Insulated Panels

It’s easy to let the issue of ancillary components such as guttering and flashings take a back seat during a large construction project, yet, the use of poor quality components can be the cause of a host of problems such as ungainly appearance, water leakage and even poor thermal performance. With stringent building regulations calling for air tight, energy efficient buildings and Energy Performance Certificates, the installation of suitable flashings and ancillaries can play an important role in meeting performance requirements.

Kingspan Insulated Panels, a leading manufacturer of insulated roof, wall and façade systems, offer a wide choice of ancillary components designed to complement their range of insulated panel systems.

Kingspan have created a range of rainwater components including gutters and related products, manufactured to project-specific requirements. For example, the new Kingspan membrane lined insulated gutter is available in lengths of up to 6 metres, reducing the number of joints compared to traditional 3 metre lengths. The product combines a membrane coated steel with an LPCB approved PIR insulation core and a white steel liner to meet the twin demands of robust construction and U-value performance (as low as 0.25 W/m².K). The system also comprises outlets, stopends and overflows, all suitable for valley or boundary wall applications.

Aesthetic choice is afforded through the use of standard and bespoke flashings. Kingspan are able to manufacture various flashings including verge, ridge, drip and bullnoses. These features can help create eye catching, energy efficient designs.

Further aesthetic appeal and design flexibility is offered by the use of Kingspan tophats, flashings and pre-formed corners and curves. Tophats and flashings not only provide a vital function in ensuring full weathertightness, but also offer enhanced visual impact. Pressed steel or extruded aluminium tophat options are available in varying options offering choice and flexibility.

The use of pre-formed corners and curves simplifies the construction process on site and offers thermal continuity, providing 100% thermal performance. Kingspan are able to manufacture a wide choice of corner and curved panels from single to multiple cranks both horizontally and vertically across the panel to curves with a minimum radius of 1500mm.

Where regulation compliance is a requirement, Kingspan Insulated Panels’ customers can call on the expertise of Kingspan envirocare technical services. Formed in 2006, envirocare technical services is an expert team dedicated to helping Kingspan customers achieve compliance with such legislation as ADL2A. Their government-approved IES “Virtual Environment” modelling software is designed to help cut through the complexities of Target Emissions Rate (TER) calculations, and has proved an invaluable tool in making the right construction choices.

The Kingspan Insulated Panels range of ancillary components offers both visual and thermal performance benefits, as well as the convenience of stocked standard products available on a next day delivery basis.
