A unique stone cladding system from Kingspan Insulated Panels is providing an exceptionally hardwearing, attractive and cost-effective method of improving the appearance of buildings. Kingspan Thermastone is the result of extensive research and development, which has produced a new generation of insulated panels offering the beauty and variation of naturally hewn stone with all the benefits of composite, pre-engineered panelling.
As with all Kingspan systems, the cladding is extremely fast and simple to install, reducing build times, providing a rapid, weathertight envelope and taking the architectural façade off the critical path.
Unlike natural stone, Kingspan Thermastone requires no cutting and can be installed without traditional masonry skills. A patented manufacturing process achieves individual veining on the tiles, replicating that of quarried stone but with the significant advantage that the ceramic granite of Kingspan Thermastone is completely free from fissures, flaws and all the other weak points which reduce the strength and versatility of quarried materials.
Ceramic granite is completely impermeable and resistant to light and UV radiation. It does not support algae growth or absorb dust or airborne contamination, providing a durable, aesthetically pleasing finish even in harsh environments such as city centres.
The system comes in a range of 10 standard colours and large tile format up to a nominal 600x1200 module, allowing design flexibility whilst providing high levels of regulation compliant thermal performance. It offers the ideal solution for almost every construction and is suitable for new build and refurbishment, or to “dress” elevations to secure inner city planning approvals.
Fully tested to CWCT standards, Kingspan Thermastone provides a complete through wall solution, providing all the visual impact of naturally hewn stone along with ease of maintenance and excellent performance over the lifetime of the building.
