Sunday Times Rank Kingspan High Up On Their Green List

Kingspan Insulated Panels are delighted to announce that they have achieved 20th place overall and 1st place for Wales in the Sunday Times Green List. The complete list published in the Sunday Times on May 18th, results from a questionnaire completed by both the management and employees of companies across the UK.

This unique survey gave 70% of the marks to company performance and 30% to reflect the employees’ views.  With over 17,000 taking part in online surveys this survey truly dug deep to find out the truth about the companies that present themselves as Britain’s greenest.  Kingspan’s independent employee assessment concluded ‘Employees say Kingspan’s green commitments are serious, giving a score of 88%.  They think their employer does a lot for the environment (82%) and is doing all that it can to minimise its environmental impact (78%).

The company is celebrating the continued recognition of their sustainability and environmental initiatives, having already won the Overall Business and Sustainability category at the prestigious Wales Business and Sustainability Awards, and the Building magazine award for Best Sustainable Business Practice last winter. For the past two years they have also been named Building magazine’s manufacturer of the year.

All Kingspan employees are briefed on the company’s Environmental Management System and Environmental Policy, with instructions and procedures implemented to make sure they are followed. Greener everyday practice is encouraged through guidelines on issues ranging from reducing energy consumption to minimising waste.

The company actively pursues excellence in green issues, and an important project has been the commissioning of the Kingspan Sustainability Report. This has helped to outline existing achievements and areas for future development, as well as gaining a Global Reporting Initiative Application Level C.

Kingspan provides a range of sustainable construction solutions for all project types, one of these being Kingspan EnergiPanel, a new solar air heating system which can reduce reliance on heating systems by up to 20%.
