Kingspan has put much effort into making its business environmentally friendly and sustainable. In line with this policy and Kingspan’s policy to reduce, reuse and recycle, it now offers several options to its customers to participate and reduce waste on site in a sustainable way.

There are currently five possibilities, free of charge or for a small fee, on offer to Kingspan customers to help reduce the impact on the environment and to manage the use of available resources.

1- Pallet return
The pallet return scheme allows contractors to arrange directly with RJ Jones, the Kingspan haulage company, for the collection of pallets from site to return to Holywell, North Wales. The conditions for the free service are that the pallets are in good condition, undamaged and reusable, the pallets must be collected from site within 3 weeks of delivery and collection is available for 30 pallets or more. 2- Blue Crown Protectors for the RW panel
These may be returned free of charge to Kingspan, provided pallets are returned at the same time. Bins or bags will be supplied for these. Contact Kingspan customer service for arrangements on following phone number 01352 716 100.

3- Plastic Packaging
Kingspan plastic packaging materials can be recycled at a cost to the customer of 10p per metre of panel delivered (subject to a minimum charge of £200). Methods of segregation and subsequent disposal are site-specific. On large sites baling machines may be supplied by Kingspan at no further cost to the customer. On smaller sites bins or skips may be used. Packaging materials will be either returned to Kingspan or transferred direct to the recycling company - in both cases, the most cost-effective / environmentally friendly option will be used. 4- Polystyrene blocks for packs of Kingzip® Standing Seam panels
These 75mm square blocks may be returned free of charge with pallets. The blocks must be in full lengths, reasonably clean and banded to a Kingspan pallet. Contact Kingspan customer service for arrangements on following phone number 01352 716 100.

5- Panel off-cuts and spare panels
A recycling service is offered by Kingspan’s partner ‘Blue Castle Business Services’ for off-cuts and spare panels. There is a charge for this service, but by selecting the most local steel recycler, costs can be kept to an absolute minimum. Transport costs can often be substantially offset by the value of the steel. Costs may be further reduced by utilising the skip for other scrap steel arising on site.
